Alioune is without question the best guide I have had in 50 years of travel. He has all qualities you need in a guide: detailed knowledge, flexibility, great language skills. For me as an older women traveler, his unfailing kindness was so refreshing in a young person. He listens. His travel in other parts of the world give a better perspective of being the tourist. He makes being in a difficult environment work.

With one friend, we spent a week in the Adrar of Mauritania. Our guide, Alioune, had planned out every detail in accordance with our wishes, even acquiring mosquito nets pup tents so we could enjoy sleeping under the magnificent African starry sky. He was greeted warmly by locals everywhere we went, he is obviously a well-respected member of the community.
